Brighter, safer, more durable
Whether Johann Wolfgang von Goethe would have liked riding a motorcycle is something we’ll never know (back in those low-tech days, of course, the poet had to get places on foot, on horseback or by horse-drawn carriage). But his last words at least point the way towards innovation: “More light,” was the final cry famously heard from Goethe’s deathbed.
More light also is the wish of many motorcyclists, especially since they, unlike cars, have only one headlamp. And those who like to go full throttle over country roads, take tight curves on mountain ascents or travel in changing light (e.g. along boulevards or through forests), are dependent on optimum luminous intensity.
Another factor for many bikers: the lights must withstand extreme conditions, much more so than in cars, because motorcycles vibrate much more when taken out for a spin on unpaved surfaces or entirely off-road. These forces act above all on the filaments, causing them to vibrate continuously.
OSRAM’s new, durable product, the Night Racer Plus, easily withstands even the toughest conditions. The lamp’s vibration resistant technology combines a highly compact special filament made of thicker wire with a novel noble gas composition, enabling the sensitive lighting system to handle different roadway surfaces and off-road riding.
