Design meets function – LED light in interior applications
Individual LED components are permitting an increasing number of lighting solutions in interior applications. In the past, the focus was always on functional aspects; today, however, design issues are increasingly taking center stage. We talked to Lena Sossenheimer, Marketing Manager Interior Sector at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in Regensburg, about trends and innovations.
The key parts of a headlight lamp
We keep on writing about lamps here, but we haven’t yet even explained how an automotive lamp actually works. We’ll do that now, starting with the H7 halogen lamp. And because we’re practically-minded, we’ll give you a matching drawing to make it easier for you to identify the parts on your lamp at home.
A halogen lamp essentially comprises the burner and the base. The latter makes the connection to the headlight. The burner holds the filament that generates the light.
